Good Afternoon,
Vehicle Seizure - No Insurance & Obstruction
Officers have seized a vehicle in the local area after it was found to be uninsured and parked across a dropped kerb, causing an obstruction to residents and pedestrians. Driving without valid insurance is an offence and can result in your vehicle being seized, as well as fines, penalty points, and increased insurance premiums in the future. If you own a vehicle, it must be insured before it is driven or parked on a public road. Motorists should always ensure their insurance policy is active, that they are named on the policy where required, and that any changes to vehicle ownership or personal circumstances are updated with their insurer. If a vehicle is not being used and is being kept off the public highway, a Statutory Off Road Notification (SORN) should be declared with the DVLA. We would also like to remind drivers to park considerately and avoid blocking dropped kerbs. These access points are essential for wheelchair users, people with pushchairs, cyclists, and residents requiring access to their driveways. Thank you to the members of the public who continue to report concerns and help us keep our roads safe and accessible for everyone.
